Motion Branding
As the lead motion designer at The Ohio State University, my goal was to help everyone approach motion design with a consistent voice and visual personality. Establishing the foundation for how motion is used empowers creators across the university to produce videos that align with the brand. From core animation principles to templates and visual examples, this collection represents my work in shaping Ohio State’s motion design identity.
Brand Center
As part of a larger initiative to create a cohesive brand experience, I contributed to a motion design section for the university’s Brand Center. The page outlines how motion integrates with our broader visual system and provides guidance for consistent use. Working closely with marketing and design teams, I developed motion standards and examples that help communicators tell stories in a unified way.
Motion Base States
To show how animation principles translate to our brand, I developed a set of motion base states that define the types of movement used in our designs. These examples help others understand how timing, easing, and energy contribute to a unified visual language while allowing room for creativity.
Video Templates
I also created a motion toolkit of pre-built video templates that editors across the university can use in their projects. These include animations for logos, titles, transitions, and lower thirds, making it easy for teams to maintain a consistent look without needing motion design software.
Visual Brand Reel
Motion Graphics, Editor

This video demonstrates how all visual systems come together—videography, photography, motion graphics, and color—to represent the Ohio State brand. It serves as a living example of how motion enhances storytelling while staying true to our visual identity.
Essential Motion Graphics Templates
To make motion accessible to more users, I built Essential Motion Graphics templates in After Effects for use within Adobe Premiere. These customizable elements automatically adapt to input text and design settings, helping non-designers create professional, on-brand animations easily.
Adobe Library
Finally, I created a shared Adobe Library so users across the university can access all branded motion elements directly within Creative Cloud apps. Along with this, I produced a tutorial video that walks users through the tools. My goal was to make high-quality motion design accessible, consistent, and easy to use across Ohio State’s creative teams.
